Waste disposal
The UK is gradually being buried under a growing mountain of waste, however many materials currently being discarded can be reused, recovered and recycled for the benefit of all. Alternatives to landfill have never been more necessary or desirable than at present.
Moreover, since 30 October 2007, new rules laid down by the Environment Agency as a consequence of the EU Landfill Directive mean that untreated waste can no longer be sent to landfill. This means that businesses must either take steps to treat their own waste, or trust in waste management companies to properly treat and dispose of their waste.
